I have 3 disks installed on the NAS. 1 for OS and 2 for data. My problem is that the disk just died and I’m wondering if I can reinstall Rockstor on a new disk but I’m a little bit scare that I will lose all my data.
Can it be done?
Short answer:
Yes.
Longer answer:
It is very easy to install Rockstor and import the old pool.
I would disconnect the two drives containing data (to prevent accidental install to one of them), and when Rockstor is reinstalled to the new disk, shut down, attach the two disks, boot and import the the pool. There is a short howto here:
