No_root_squish needs to be a whole share option

Thanks for bringing this up and clearly explaining the rationale behind this feature request. I agree with you and we do have room for improvement on the customization of NFS exports.

We actually have an opened issue for such improvement created by @dvgeek, interestingly also stemming from the need to specify the no_root_squash option:

Feature Request: NFS advanced export options

For NFS exports there is an _Advanced Edit_ button, that takes you to the __NFS …Advanced Edit__ page. There are two boxes on this page - the top one shows you the __Automatically added entries__ and the second box if for entering the manual export entries. Without documentation, I ran into an error when I added the option *no_root_squash* into that box. The correct way to enter a manual export option is to enter the entire export line as it would be in the /etc/exports file - __*/export/MyWkStnBackUp (rw,async,insecure,no_root_squash)__ This can easily be fixed by documenting the correct usage. Flox (@FroggyFlox?) over in the forums suggested opening an issue - but I am labelling this as a feature request, as a suggestion, because it's not a bug or an issue. Would it perhaps make it a bit more intuitive to the user if the actual line that needed the advanced option from the top box could be selected and, upon selection be shown in the bottom box ready for editing? Then the user can add the required options and the line can be written back to the /etc/exports file. Once saved the box can be cleared and the top box can show the line with the added manual option. Also, could the top box be populated by reading the __/etc/exports__ file for the first time? Because many default options are added to the __/etc/exports__ file, that the user may not be aware of, and may want to modify. And if there are many export lines, it will be tedious to type them all in - because if you add options to only one line, any other line you had modified earlier gets reset back to the Automatic added entries.

If I remember correctly, we followed the default recommendation and settings with regards to this option, but I agree with you that we should more easily allow users to specifiy it. It’s already possible (see discussion above), but it’s currently not well documented and not intuitive enough so we should work on that.
