Gents, I need to be able to schedule a balance task on file system.
This is because I’m planing to use it for CCTV whenever footage will come and go over a predefined time. This will result in BTRFS exhausting it’s free space due to COW. There is no mechanism in btrfs fo reclaiming free space in events like that and only option is to run balance.
I personally don’t fancy putting it in my diary to run balance every month or so.
I was also thinking about adding -ionice option for it.
Ideas / objections ?!
