Hi, just attempted a CPU upgrade on my Rockstor NAS to something a bit more powerful. New CPU supported by mobo.
All boots well until we get to Starting Rockstor Bootstrapping Tasks, at which point the system shuts down without warning. Don’t get to the log msg about BTRFS using crc32c checksum algorithm.
Put the old CPU in and all fine again.
Any way around this or will I need to try a complete reinstall ?
Thks

@paulm, welcome to the Rockstor community.
I would say, in general it depends on how different the new CPU is (e.g. replace an Intel skylake i5 CPU with a Xeon on the same motherboard that supports it vs. just a higher speed Intel skylake CPU might require a re-install). I think also if you have an UEFI boot that might require the re-install.
You can use the configuration backup facility on Rockstor to preserve the majority of your settings. The install should also be pretty quick.
Ignore the screenshots, since the installer has changed substantially from 3.9.x (Legacy CentOS) but this could help to get “your ducks in a row” for a re-installation:
