When I try to create an smb share it gives a message of an Unknown internal error doing a POST to /api/samba, afp works fine.
@seppolind Welcome to the Rockstor community.
Thanks for reporting this. As it goes we have already fixed this (in pend release code) by way of the following prior report:
https://github.com/rockstor/rockstor-core/issues/1813
which was addressed by the following pull request:
https://github.com/rockstor/rockstor-core/pull/1814
So pending final tests of the resulting merged code it should be release in the next testing channel update. Keep an eye on the following thread which details the current (as of writing) testing channel releases:
Hope that helps.
Note that testing channel is expected to break from time to time and feedback such as yours is greatly valued. There are some major changes ‘under the hood’ ongoing currently which inevitably lead to issues such as this but that is what the testing channel is for. But the upside is that once the dust has settled there will be more potential for magic (read useful features/flexibility). Thanks for your contribution and please do report any other issues you find.
I’m seeing “Unknown internal error doing a POST to /api/samba” while trying to create a samba share, but only on Chrome on Mac (Version 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) (64-bit)). Switching to FIrefox on the same mac allows me to create the share. On Chrome, the pop-up box says “Houston we’ve had a problem.”, then “Unknown internal error doing a POST to /api/samba”, then the rest of the box below is completely empty (down to the “As a subscriber to Stable updates, you are eligible…”.
For reference, this is on Rockstor 3.9.2-23 with a subscription to stable updates. All OS patches have been applied.
