FTP Support (vs. SFTP)

Hello,

As far as I see, only sftp, not ftp is supported.
My scanner supports ftp only. How can I set up a FTP server with rockstor?

You could use syncthing. Scan to a local folder and let it sync the files to wherever you want.

Have you tried this guide from rhel7 documentation? Hope that helps. We could potentially support it officially, please feel free to open a github issue.

It’s the default sftp subsystem of openssh server.

thanks. The tutorail works.
Once you start vsftp, every non-system-user can use ftp.

I think, it would be good to add this as a feature.

Yes, please add this as a feature. FTP and FTPES has a much broader support than SFTP. Also it is much faster in most cases.

YES!! please…I would gladly pay the $40 if you had this…I have a bunch of cameras, scanners, printers that only support plain old FTP…no SFTP. I would love to simply create one account…say, netPrinterFiler, and it only has FTP access to one directory…

3.9.1 is so awesome!! I finally got a build going with LUKS…but…any word on good 'ol FTP? maybe a docker?
