Our installer does require an internet connection on first boot, and on each update there-after. That could produce the issues your have reported here. The reason is that we build from source, using Poetry and PyPi’s resources. See the following installer guide:
The Rockstor bootstrapping task may take around 3-4 minutes to appear, depending on computer, drive, and internet speed. This same delay occurs during every rockstor package update, as rockstor-build.service downloads and builds from PyPi.
I was installing Rockstor on my server, but I forgot to plug the ethernet cable in.
So the Rockstor Installer could not get an internet connection and these error messages appeared.
Afterwards I plugged in the ethernet cable, ran the installer again and then everything did work.
@axios Could you respond here with your progress on this install proglem - strongly suspected to be no internet connection. As indicated also by @simon-77 whose post you have quoted already? I.e. they had no internet connection for the install to complete.
I see that you have started another thread:
It would be good to know if they are related.
I.e. please confirm here if you found your issue to be no-internet.
Just trying to clarify where we are at with your progress. And separate potential causes.
