Recently I installed Rockstor on a machine which I have a static IP address. At the moment I am becoming famoliar with Rockstor and reading the docs before setting up the drives.
The host is up and I have connected via the web ui. I have also been able to update the packages on the system so I know that the network connection is working.
Within the ui I noticed that on the navigation hud menu there is no Mgmt IP shown. This device only has one NIC, an Ethernet connection.
I was curious if this is something on my end that needs to be configured or potentially a bug. I checked in two browsers Brave and FireFox. Attached is a screenshot.
In order to display a management IP you have to specify a network interface for the Rockstor service (in the services menu). When you click on the wrench right next to the Rockstor service, you can specify an interface, which in turn will then drive the population of the Management IP. Otherwise, Rockstor is essentially listening on all interfaces (even if you only have one physical one, and maybe a docker network):
So, not necessary in your case, but if you want to display it on top, proceed to specify the Network Interface to have it displayed on top.
It becomes more relevant if you have e.g. two network ports and each of them serves a different subnet, then the UI would not know which IP to call out as Management IP, unless you pick a specific interface from which you want to manage the appliance.
