Owncloud official security implicatios

Hi,

So I’ve been trying to get rockstor working for SME and we need owncloud as a cheap backup for user data (don’t ask).

Since it’s a SME I perform IT task in a free time

Anyway I’ve noticed that main difference between a “Owncloud” and “Owncloud Official” is that first one has a database build in and latter has to connected to MariaDB through a external interface IP … well leaving DB connection open to the outside world seem a bit stupid in terms of security

So here are 2 questions:

  1. Is there a way to get the database locked out on internal address space ? It seems impossible to do it on internal docker interface since IP’s are dynamically allocated there
  2. How likely is “owncloud” package get any updates ?
