Hi, I have 2 appliances and was trying out the replication but keeps showing failed.
Did the add appliances both sides. Saw the error when I hover over the exclamation mark but it is very cryptic, has uid but I don’t see cause. What should I look at next. or do to troubleshoot. ? THANKS.
Thanks for trying replication @DoctorDavid. I believe that it’s broken at the moment due to some changes with snapshots. I really appreciate you trying it out as I had a great time developing this feature a while ago. And I personally have a need for this now, so i’ll set it up after 3.8-4 update and be of more help.
In the mean time, if you could send logs(/opt/rockstor/var/log) to support@rockstor.com, that would be great. Also some screenshots of UI with cryptic messages can also be helpful.
I am glad to do this. Have to attend to other stuff for awhile but will keep these systems on and gather input later today for you. Please tell me where / how to send the data to you (pm, email, etc.). Glad to help with Rockstor as I like it and hope to use it in production soon…
Unfortunately I had deleted the Replication Send Task since I posted last, but I recreated this and recreated the error so that I could get the screen shots.
Ok I have saved logs. I made 3 screenshots. I uploaded these to jumpshare.com, you should be able to find them here:
Let me know if you need anything else, but please know I am doing lots of experiments with the systems and they will change again soon.
Not sure if you need this but host d46 (192.168.0.246) was source and d51-Rockstor (192.168.0.51) was destination for the attempted replication.
@DoctorDavid Sorry for the delay in my response. Been busy closing out the release update. For now, you can send any logs to support@rockstor.com Thank you so much for helping us make Rockstor better!
Thanks @DoctorDavid I have downloaded logs and screenshots. I’ll be refreshing my replication setup here very soon. I don’t anticipate needing more information until further testing from my side. Hope not to need any more info to fix it up. I’ll update this topic with my findings.
Is replication still broken or tested as working?
on my replication reciever i get:
CommandException: Error running a command. cmd = [’/sbin/btrfs’, ‘subvolume’, ‘create’, u’/mnt2/backup/.snapshots/00000000-2a647f94-552e-41ad-b8e1-849f67547e63_big’]. rc = 1. stdout = [’’]. stderr = [“ERROR: can’t access ‘/mnt2/backup/.snapshots’”, ‘’]
where “big” is the source share and “backup” the destination pool.
I’m currently working on this. There is an open pull request. It should be testable in the next testing update.
