Rsync to new pool does not maintain AD permissions?

We have migrated data to a new pool. This data was shared via SMB and permissions were set per our Active Directory.
We transferred the data using rsync and we are confident all data transferred.
However, it appears the permissions did not transfer, ownership and access have been reset to root/root.

Is there an easy way to re-establish the correct permissions?

@MRC-MBU could you share a bit more on the details on what rsync parameters you used? That might help spur some ideas on how that can be remedied, as we have some AD users on the forum that could possibly chip in with their own experience.
