Use Rockstor as primary master

Hi

I have one Rockstor as NAS and 2 Mycloud and one Zyxel 326 as well but i would use my Rockstor as Master NAS and everthing should go throug my Rockstor .

I would get my other NAS as disk in my Rockstor. I know it may get not so quick as use them direct but I get a better overview

Or will you say , forget it?

@nicklas a couple of questions.

How are you planning on showing the other NAS as disks in the Rockstor appliance?

Within the WebUI, I don’t think that’s possible. Are you planning on manually mounting them as external shares inside Rockstor, like an NFS or SMB share, so they appear as a local drive? And then subsequently try to export them as a Rockstor SMB/NFS share (which you would also have to do using the command line, as the WebUI only focuses on the Rockstor managed disks/pools/shares and an external one, especially if it’s not the btrfs format will not be recognized).
From my perspective I would say it’s not worth the effort, however I guess it will depend on your use case from the client side (systems that will access these drives).

Or is the intent more to use something like nginx to serve up the others’ admin Web UIs at the same IP address (e.g. https://rockstor.local/zyxel)?

Thanks
I like the webUI and the overview you get in Rockstor so it was a thought to use it as a monitoring system for all NAS . So I’ve to live with check all NAS by themself .
