Thanks to forum member Squeakz for highlighting this issue. Some more modern San…Disk devices are emerging with very long serial numbers which causes their by-id names to exceed our current Django db Disk model limit of 128 chars. value too long for type character varying(128) Previously we had only seen devices maxing out at around 50-55 characters, half of our current limit. But the reported device had a by-id base name of 146 char making it's partition names 152 chars long min. It is proposed that we extend our existing limit from 128 to 192 characters to accommodate this trend. In the reported case the device was a usb-SanDisk_Ultra_Fit.

I purchased one back then for testing but ended up not getting the giant name variant as it goes.

I have added your report to that issue and hopefully we can get this database field extended via an update soon.

Could you possibly give an exact model number for this device as it would be good to know.
