we have a project on our project about NAS we chose Rockstor OS for it
our prof required an additional LAN card so other computer can connect
we successfully installed our rockstor server on our server unit
heres the our rockstore server specs
our problem is we cannot access the shared files (using samba)
on our windows system (we have 2 system units 1 for rockstor server 1 for the client)
we connect the rockstor server on the internet (we plug it directly to the router (router to motherboard) )
and we connected the windows based on the LAN card (windows system to lan card on rockstor server)
You’ve stated the problem but without detailed steps, error messages etc… it’s really hard for us to help. Your chances of getting help increase if you provide more information and narrow the problem down.

From the sounds of it the rockstor hardware only has one working network card, but your project requires the use of 2 cards. If only one is visible to Rockstor’s linux base then that is the base of your problem. You could also look at:
ifconfig -a
as that will show both up and down interfaces.
Rockstor does have an ability to use multiple network cards to have such arrangements as Web-UI only on one while all client ie samba users are on another network. But it doesn’t provide a dhcp server on any interface so that may be relevant. Only once a network card is visible to Rockstor’s base, linux (ie above command) will it be configurable via Rockstor’s Web-UI ie System - Network.
I have also replied to another post that looks similar to this one, there may be some information in that thread that relates:
