Leap 15.5 to 15.6 conflicts

Hi Team,

I have followed the same upgrade path I did from 15.4 to 15.5 but this time it is quoting some conflicts and I am not sure how to proceed and would like advice.

Hi @agjbond007 ,

I know it doesn’t help much, but I wanted to start we with sharing a how-to that @phillxnet just published on our docs: Distribution update from 15.5 to 15.6 — Rockstor documentation

Would you be able to have a look and compare with the repos you have to make sure they are the same? If you followed the same procedure as your previous distribution upgrade it should be ok but I thought we should confirm that before going further.

Hi @Flox,

I should have done a better search for this sorry for that. I have read and followed everything and the only difference was I needed to use Option 3 which is the same as what was documented in the 15.5-15.6 update document. It is now installing so we will see if all is good after the install.

Thanks for the direction on this.

@agjbond007 & @Flox
So this is a perculiar one as for @agjbond007 instance options 3 reads:

Where as from my experiments while developing that howto, which used both our 4.5.8-0 (Leap 15.4) installer as origin (updated before hand as per instructinos from the prior howto) and our much more recent 5.0.9-0 (Leap 15.5) installers as base. Solution 2 was the simplest route.

But note that from my sited systems, and the referenced/resulting howto, we actually have the exact same action but under a different Solution number:

Solution 2: deinstallation of libopenssl-1_1-devel-1.1.1l-150500.17.28.2.x86_64

I’ve thus created the following issue for our docs:

Thank for the excellent reporting here, I had assumed when I developed that howto that the Solution numbering would be consistent across installed instance; so that is obviously not the case. I’ll try to get to that howto enhancement shortly.

Hope that helps.

@agjbond007 Re:

Along with a review from @Flox, we have now just published an update to the referenced howto: Distribution update from 15.5 to 15.6 — Rockstor documentation

a page refresh may be required, but it now contains your reported findings.

Thanks again for your report. Timely and detailed.

Hopefully that should help others following the same procedure.
Bit by bit.

Updated both setups to 5.0.10 “WITHOUT” disconnecting anything and without stopping F@H RockOns.

Both systems running fine, no “unknown” hickups yet…

I have a notion to setup a hardware test for NVME support/testing… we will see.
