I am trying to copy files to my rockstor NAS and I am getting the message “You need permission to perform this action” what needs to be checked and possibly changed?

@shouldberetired welcome to the Rockstor community.

You might have to check on which user you are using to connect to Rockstor (assuming you’re using Samba exports), and compare it to the ownership and permissions of the share you’re trying to write to.

It might be as simple as changing the owner of the share you’re using using the WebUI, or if you already have a directory created you might need to use the command line to change the ownership to the user/group you’re using to connect.
