I’m looking to update from Leap 15.4/Rockstor 4.6.1.0 to the latest Rockstor-supported Leap 15.6. My starting point should be Distribution update from 15.4 to 15.5 — Rockstor documentation but that states that Rockstor 5.0.9 is the minimum recommended version.
I’m not sure if I should come off the stable updates channel and get onto the latest Rockstor first, or attempt the OS update and get the latest Rockstor after that.
I’m sure there’s a “how-to” somewhere that I’ve missed: I’m sorry, I looked but didn’t find.
Yes, we have a doc maintenance issue open for that here:
Take a look at that GitHub issue as it details the changes we will make to that document soon hopefully.
You basically found it but we only recently noticed this anomaly regarding the overly strict restriction in that how-to.
From the downloads page table: Downloads you can see our Stable rpms available per Leap base; and 4.6.1 was published for Leap 15.5: i.e. where you are currently heading. I’d hold off from then going to 15.6 until we have our next stable out thought. But shouldn’t be long now.
I’ll get the OS updated. Perhaps I’ll get gutsy and switch to the testing channel. It seems the risk is low at this point (worst case scenario is re-install and I am confident in my backups).
Thank you for the terrific support that you provide here.
[Edit: this is not an issue; the upgrade completed successfully]
I think this is expected for 4.6.1-0 based on my memory of earlier posts.
