Upgraded 2-HBA cards to 1-HBA card ZERO PROBLEMS! (Final Update)

FYI everybody, both my home NAS setups are on 5.0.13 testing channel and so far super good! The main NAS has 14 storage drives and one 250G SSD system drive. System runs off motherboard SATA ports, all the data drives now run off single 16 channel HBA.

I just removed two HBA cards (one was failing) and replaced them with ONE LSI 9300-16i card, restarted the system and ZERO hickups! The system and kernal and Rockstor took it in stride and just worked!!

Then, recreated the main Raid-10 pool (since I had deleted it before for HBA hardware testing). It is nearly done transferring 14TB of data and then the big scrub test!

I can’t wait for next stable release because it is all working so well!

Final Update:

Scrub on Raid-10 setup is working about 40% faster with new controller!

Also, I identified a SMART failure in progress and replaced one drive without problem. The drive is one month from being out of warranty, so I contacted Western Digital and did an RMA at the speed of light and got an approval! Sooo, off it will go into the wild blue yonder of WD support mechanism and we will see what happens…
