@cjc1959au Thanks for the info:
The top number is the version of the installed rockstor rpm, see:
yum info rockstor
the second is the linux kernel version.
Both show that you have not yet selected an update channel as both channels have updates to both the rockstor package and a newer (4.12) kernel kernel. See System - Software Update, or the prompt that pops up when visiting the Dashboard. Both of these package updates should help with import, the rockstor package will help on our (Rockstor’s) end and the kernel will should help with it carrying a newer btrfs filesystem driver. The former is the main benefit re the import, the latter for general filesystem improvements.
Selecting an update channel add an additional repository from which newer rockstor and kernel packages can be drawn. Although our kernel package is copied directly from the elrepo folks via their elrepo-kernel channel and is their kernel-ml (for main line) variant. But we are currently behind on kernel updates which is another story (see our in progress openSUSE news on the forum).
So if you first select an update channel and then do the following in a terminal as the root user:
yum update
we can then see if there are any errors, if so please copy the output into your reply here. I suggest this method rather than via the Web-UI as we seem to be in very different time zones and this will provide more info than if the update is done via the Web-UI which, if there is a problem, will just fail with no info. So just in case I’m suggest you update at the terminal after having first selected your chosen update channel.
Please see the top post in the following thread for info on the current state of the channels:
Essentially the last testing channel release was the first stable channel release of 3.9.2-0 (which never got an associated iso) so it’s well worth trying first in your case. The stable channel now has over 40 more fixes since then and it’s associated subscription payment helps to sustain the project’s continued development but definitely worth trying testing first; assuming you didn’t disable quotas on that pool previously which is currently only supported in the stable channel code.
That’s strange as under your current user of @cjc1959au I have only this thread for your entire forum post history. Lets circle back around to this one once we have your system updated and your pool imported. Although the above info/references have hopefully addressed you prior query.
Hope that helps and apologies for the slow response.
